Cookie Notice

This notice explains how Be My Best Man uses cookies and similar technologies. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy. We use cookies in line with the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and the UK GDPR.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies (such as local storage and pixels) work the same way. They help a site function and can be used to measure how it's used.
2. The cookies we use
We group cookies into two kinds.
Strictly necessary cookies (no consent required). These make the site work — handling your session, processing payment securely and storing your page details. The site can't function properly without them, so they're on by default.
Analytics cookies (consent). We use PostHog (EU-hosted, with IP anonymisation) to understand how the site is used so we can improve it. We do not use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking you across other sites. The analytics cookie is only set if you accept it in our cookie banner. Until you accept, or if you decline, we count visits anonymously without cookies and without storing anything on your device: PostHog turns your IP address and browser details into a code that changes every day, so we can see how many people visit and where they drop off without recognising anyone. If you accept, you can withdraw consent at any time via Cookie settings in the footer or on this page. If your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we don't load analytics at all. We never record sessions or capture form input. On the reveal page (the surprise link a recipient opens) we don't run this analytics cookie at all — we only count, anonymously and without cookies, that a reveal was opened and responded to, so no banner appears there.

We show a consent banner for analytics cookies, and they're set only after you accept. If we ever add advertising cookies, they'll be added to the same banner and set only with your consent.
3. Your choices
- Analytics: accept or decline in the cookie banner, and change your mind at any time via Cookie settings in the footer or on this page. Declining means no analytics cookie; we still count your visit anonymously without cookies.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: if your browser sends either signal, we don't load analytics at all, cookieless or otherwise, even if you've accepted.
- Browser controls: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to work.
